Our Leadership Team

MIKE SKILLINGSTAD

Mike has over 20 years’ experience in finance, business strategy, business re-engineering, mergers and acquisitions and integration. Mike is a Senior Operating Partner and a founder of MGMT3D, LLC.

Prior to founding MGMT3D, Mike served as the CFO for Best Brands Corporation, a private-equity backed bakery manufacturer and distributor. In his capacity as CFO Mike orchestrated the sale of Best Brands Corporation to CSM.

From 1999 to 2008, Mike held a number of roles at ConAgra Foods, including heading up its Corporate Strategy and Business Development (M&A) Groups, CFO for the ConAgra Snack Foods Group, and CFO for ConAgra Store Brands. Mike also worked for U.S. Filter Distribution and Coopers & Lybrand.

Mike is an active board member for several private-equity backed organizations. He has an inactive CPA License and an MBA in Finance/Marketing from the University of Minnesota.

JOHN DERUS

John brings a diversified technical and operational finance skill set to MGMT3D. As a Principal, John helps clients achieve success across a wide spectrum of industries and initiatives ranging from business intelligence and financial planning and analysis to business strategy and technology solutions.

Prior to MGMT3D, John held multiple roles in the finance organization at Best Buy including corporate finance, financial risk management and corporate accounting. Most recently, he was the global controller of Best Buy’s private label business, where he had responsibility for the controllership function, financial planning and analysis, tax strategy, decision support and an ERP system implementation. Prior to joining Best Buy, John spent seven years at Ernst & Young LLP in both the valuation and audit functions serving numerous fortune 500 companies across market segments.

John received his BA in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas. He has an inactive CPA license and sits on advisory boards for a university and local high school.

MICHAEL STEWARD

Michael Steward is a manager at MGMT3D where is responsible for a myriad of roles helping business partners create value by improving business processes, especially using MGMT3D’s sophisticated BI tools.

Prior to joining MGMT3D, Michael held multiple roles within the finance team at Pentair. Most recently, he was the finance leader for the $400M Water Purification division of Pentair, responsible for all forecasting, planning, and reporting activities as well as any finance support required for the organization.

Michael has also held roles within the controlling, investor relations, and FP&A teams and also oversaw the financial rotational program after being a founding member of the program.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in Economics with a focus in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is currently working on his MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

EMILY CALLAHAN

Emily is VP of Marketing and Business Development at MGMT3D. She has over 20 years of experience in business development, marketing and business growth strategy with Fortune 500 companies to small privately held firms. She started at MGMT3D in 2010 as Manager of Product Design & User Experience and was promoted to Sr Director of Product Design & User Experience before becoming VP of Marketing.

In her current role, she has overall responsibility for brand leadership, creative development and end-to-end user/customer experience including software design & product management, identifying development/product innovation opportunities and strategy to execution of go-to-market and business development approaches via all mediums (traditional/digital).  Her duties include overseeing strategic planning, brand awareness and value prop, creative development, business development & strategic partnerships, lead generation/sales funnel growth approaches, event marketing, communications, digital/print creatives, customer/client relationship management.

Prior to MGMT3D she was a Process Manager at UnitedHealth Group for 302 SOX Certification – Training & Development of Process & Procedures.

Emily has a BA in Marketing from the University of Minnesota.

Business-focused, solution oriented leader in developing business software solutions

KEVIN FRANCK

Kevin is a Development Manager and responsible for the development and management of the EBM suite of software products.

Kevin’s business-focused, solution oriented approach to leading and managing the development of business software solutions, is shown in the acceptance, utilization and business impact of those solutions.  Kevin’s passion is determining whether and how technology can be leveraged to solve simple or complex business issues.

Prior to MGMT3D, Kevin started his career in the Minneapolis office of CSC Consulting, one of the world’s largest providers of information technology services. While at CSC, Kevin worked primarily as business process analyst in the government sector.  After two years at CSC, Kevin became a principal at Revolution Consulting, a Minnesota based custom software development company. During his thirteen years at Revolution Consulting, Kevin designed and developed solutions for property management, construction, professional service and retail companies.

Kevin has B.S. degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Services from Moorhead State University and served eleven years in the Minnesota Army National Guard as a Finance Officer and Infantry soldier.
